Why blackheads appear:
– They are more common in oily skin
Blackheads usually occur due to pore expansion, which creates the right environment for the accumulation of abundant sebum secretion. Dermatology specialists explain that sebaceous gland terminations reach the surface of the skin, while the sebum produced oxidizes in contact with the air and results in a dark color.
– Zone T is the most prone
Blackheads occur frequently in the T-zone of the face: forehead, nose, chin. What is the explanation? Usually, the skin on the forehead, nose, and chin is fatter and produces much sebum.
This is nothing but the natural secretion of sebaceous glands that protect the skin. Composed of fatty acids and protein materials, sebum has a bactericidal role.
